Everybody dancin’ different with familiar grace.
Just off of a weekend throwdown with Widespread Panic. I’d say i’m approaching the half century mark on seeing the boys. It never gets old. It’s not quite the same since Mikey died, but the vibe with Jimmy Herring is really positive and they just appear to be having a damn good time again on the stage. We should know we were only a few rows back on Saturday night. Why do I keep going back? It’s the music, the people, the atmosphere, the freedom, the groove, the friends, and the music… oh did i already say that?
It’s pure. No BS. Yeah, the tickets are more expensive than they used to be, but it’s still affordable. Most of the ticket price increases are due to the Ticketbastard and Venue fees. What can you do? Fall tour dates were just confirmed today. Halloween in Asheville. If you’ve ever been to Asheville and/or you’ve ever heard of Widespread Panic, then you should probably get online in early September and pick up a ticket. They will go fast. I’ll probably try and make Charleston, SC for a 2 night stand in early November as well.
This post was inspired by the awesome photos on my friend Joy’s new blog. You should definitely check out her musings.
The sun came out the other day
Through those dusty clouds
And in my mind I was a child
And it felt good!
Ain’t life grand
peace and panic

I know why you keep going back! Not something that you explain in words, nor to someone who doesn’t “know” or appreciate. Good to hear they have local shows and that you’re getting to hit a few. We’re headed to VA this weekend to see 2 BC shows and then down to the House of Blues in North Myrtle August 21, wanna go? Same group.
Thanks for the link here. It’s refreshing to read some real substance and to see someone taking the time to share it. I’ll be stopping by.
Peace.
